The New York Jets have been busy building their roster, and Friday morning brought another key addition. The team officially announced the signing of sixth-round draft pick Anez Cooper, an offensive lineman out of Miami, to a four-year contract.
Cooper was a rock for the Hurricanes' offensive line, starting every game at guard last season and amassing an impressive 45 career starts. His experience and durability make him a valuable piece as the Jets look to strengthen their protection up front.
With Cooper's deal now done, four of the Jets' draft picks have signed, including first-round tight end Kenyon Sadiq. However, two other first-round selections—edge rusher David Bailey and wide receiver Omar Cooper—remain unsigned as negotiations continue.
But the roster moves didn't stop there. The Jets also announced the signing of 12 undrafted free agents, adding depth and competition across multiple positions. The list includes:
Offense:
- Running backs: Chip Trayanum (Toledo) and Sam Scott (Wyoming)
- Wide receivers: Malik McClain (Arizona State), Caullin Lacy (Louisville), and DT Sheffield (Rutgers)
- Tight end: Chase Curtis (TCU)
- Offensive lineman: Xavier Hill (Colorado)
Defense & Special Teams:
- Edge rusher: Nathan Voorhis (Ball State)
- Linebacker: Kendrick Blackshire (UTSA)
- Cornerback: Mory Bamba (BYU)
- Kicker: Will Ferrin (BYU)
- Long snapper: Garrison Grimes (BYU)
With training camp on the horizon, these undrafted signings will have a chance to prove their worth and potentially carve out roles on the Jets' roster. For fans, it's an exciting time to see the team's vision come together—and maybe even pick up some new gear to support the latest additions.
