The New York Jets didn't waste any time making a decision on a 5-foot-11 wide receiver after rookie minicamp, waiving Mac Dalena on Sunday as part of two roster moves.
Dalena, who had signed a futures deal earlier this offseason after a brief stint on the Seattle Seahawks' practice squad in 2025, was let go to make room for veteran offensive lineman Landon Young. Young, a former sixth-round pick by the New Orleans Saints in 2021, received a tryout at minicamp and impressed enough to earn a contract.
Young brings 56 games of NFL experience to the Jets' offensive line, though all 215 of his career snaps have come on special teams. While he faces an uphill battle to secure a roster spot, he provides valuable depth during the offseason program and could potentially land on the practice squad in the coming months.
For the Jets, this move signals they're looking to shore up their offensive line depth after seeing enough from their rookie wideout. The team will return to action for organized team activities (OTAs) on May 27, giving Young and the rest of the roster a chance to make their case for the final 53-man cut.
