Current analyst and former Duke standout Jay Williams recently predicted that Cameron Boozer would fall out of the top-three in the 2026 NBA Draft.

Jay Williams, the former Duke star turned college basketball analyst, has stirred up the 2026 NBA Draft conversation with a bold prediction: Cameron Boozer won't crack the top three picks.

Williams, a key member of Duke's 2000-01 national championship team, sees Boozer landing with the Chicago Bulls at No. 4 overall. That's a notable drop for the highly-touted Duke recruit, who has long been considered a potential top pick.

So who does Williams have ahead of him? He's projecting AJ Dybantsa (BYU) and Darryn Peterson (Kansas) to go 1-2 to the Washington Wizards and Utah Jazz, respectively. Then comes the real surprise: Caleb Wilson of North Carolina at No. 3 to the Memphis Grizzlies. Williams is high on Wilson, saying, "10 years from now when we re-draft this class, we could be talking about him being the first pick."

Rounding out the top five, Williams has Arkansas guard Darius Acuff Jr. going to the Los Angeles Clippers at No. 5, right after Boozer.

As for Boozer's NBA potential, Williams compared him to current All-Star Alperen Sengun of the Houston Rockets and former champion Kevin Love, now with the Utah Jazz. It's a flattering comparison that suggests Boozer could still be a major force—just not at the very top of the draft board.

For college hoops fans and draft watchers, this prediction adds another layer of intrigue to the 2026 class. Whether Boozer proves Williams wrong or slips as projected, one thing is clear: the race for the top spots is wide open.
