LSU baseball beat Southeastern Louisiana on Tuesday night, but that wasn't the only good news of the day for Jay Johnson's Tigers.
After the win, Johnson provided an injury update on starting pitcher Casan Evans, who was scratched from the lineup card moments before he was expected to start vs Ole Miss last Friday.
"We got a lot of positive news. He will be just fine. So I don't know what that means for this weekend, but he is A-OK," Johnson said.
Johnson previously said Evans was scratched after general arm discomfort. It's always scary to hear that about a pitcher, but Johnson said Evans is moving in the right direction.
While Evans is healthy, Johnson doesn't know what it means for this weekend yet. Evans was knocked off his schedule due to the change-up last week.
"He's good to go. Yeah. So I don't know, because we haven't thrown in five or six days, how quickly we're going to reboot him back to the mound," Johnson said.
Evans has been up and down this year. The talent is evident, but he's in his first year as a full-time starter. The sophomore is expected to return to LSU in 2027.
Next up for LSU is a home series vs. South Carolina.
