Nose tackle isn’t really the most glorified or visible position.

So the significance of the Cincinnati Bengals trading for Dexter Lawrence might not be as clear for fans as it is for players.

Jason Kelce, the former center for the Philadelphia Eagles and current host of the “New Heights” podcast, shared his feelings on the trade recently.

“I’ll speak on Dexter, because I had to block him,” Kelce began. “I mean, for me, I feel very lucky that I got to play him young in his career before he had figured out all my tricks that I tried to use against him, because that was the only way I was surviving.”

He then went on to say that Lawrence was “virtually unblockable” in Wink Martindale’s defense with the New York Giants.

“You would watch the tape, and it’s like, God damn, guy’s like destroying centers,” Kelce said, calling Lawrence a “massive human being” who can move. “He’s a dancing bear. You see it when he’s doing his Sexy Dexy, which you do not want to see.”

Finally, Kelce said it was a “big add” for the Bengals, and he looks forward to seeing how Lawrence can improve the defense in Cincinnati.
