Xavier Edwards tied the game with a homer in the seventh inning, Jakob Marsee hit a three-run homer in the eighth and the Florida Marlins rallied from down four runs to beat the Washington Nationals 8-7 on Saturday. It was the Marlins' seventh comeback win of the season and their largest so far, passing a three-run rally against the Colorado Rockies on March 29.

The Miami Marlins pulled off a thrilling comeback on Saturday, erasing a four-run deficit to defeat the Washington Nationals 8-7 in a game that had fans on the edge of their seats. It was the Marlins' seventh come-from-behind win of the season and their most dramatic yet, surpassing a three-run rally against the Colorado Rockies on March 29.

The turning point came in the late innings. Xavier Edwards launched a solo homer in the seventh to tie the game at 4-4, setting the stage for rookie Jakob Marsee. In the eighth, Marsee crushed a hanging slider into the visiting bullpen in right field for a three-run homer, giving the Marlins a 7-4 lead. Leo Jiménez added a sacrifice fly to push the lead to 8-4.

Kyle Stowers was a force at the plate, finishing a triple shy of the cycle and driving in two runs with a fourth-inning homer that cut the Nationals' lead in half. Otto Lopez extended his hitting streak to 12 games with a single and a double, now the longest active streak in MLB after Jacob Wilson of the Athletics went hitless against the Orioles.

The Marlins' rally began in the fourth when Stowers went deep, followed by Owen Caissie's sacrifice fly in the sixth. Edwards' 422-foot blast in the seventh tied the game and shifted momentum entirely.

On the mound, starter Janson Junk delivered a solid six-inning outing, striking out six while allowing seven hits and four runs. Andrew Nardi (3-2) earned the win in relief. The ninth inning brought some drama as Michael Petersen struggled, allowing three runs, but John King came in to secure the final out for his first career save.

For the Nationals, Mitchell Parker (2-1) took the loss after allowing five hits and five runs in one inning of relief. Richard Lovelady was effective as the opener, tossing two scoreless innings with three strikeouts.

The series finale on Sunday features a marquee pitching matchup: Washington's Cade Cavalli (1-2, 4.15) faces Miami's Sandy Alcantara (3-2, 4.01). With the Marlins riding this momentum, expect another exciting chapter in this division clash.
