The Jacksonville Jaguars have made a notable roster adjustment along the offensive line shortly after the conclusion of the 2026 NFL Draft. According to NFL insider Aaron Wilson, the team is releasing second-year offensive lineman Sal Wormley.
Wormley, who spent five seasons at Penn State, initially joined the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent following the 2025 NFL Draft. During his college career, he was a three-year starter and amassed nearly 2,400 career offensive snaps—almost exclusively at right guard. Last season, Wormley spent time on Jacksonville's practice squad before signing a reserve/futures contract for the 2026 season in January.
However, with the Jaguars' interior offensive line becoming increasingly competitive, Wormley found himself as the odd man out. Jacksonville selected guard Emmanuel Pregnon in the third round of this year's draft, adding to an already crowded group that includes Ezra Cleveland, Patrick Mekari, Wyatt Milum, and Chuma Edoga. Additionally, Walker Little saw time at guard late last season, and the team brought in undrafted free agents Garrett DiGiorgio and Jordan White.
This move underscores the Jaguars' commitment to building depth and competition along the offensive line—a critical area for any team looking to protect their quarterback and establish a strong running game. For fans and gear enthusiasts alike, it's a reminder that roster battles are just as intense off the field as they are on it.
