Jacksonville Jaguars DL Arik Armstead weighed in recently on Travis Hunter's playing time in his second NFL season.

Jacksonville Jaguars defensive tackle Arik Armstead is all in on Travis Hunter's two-way potential, and he's not shy about sharing his enthusiasm. In a recent appearance on Good Morning Football, Armstead didn't just endorse the idea of Hunter playing both offense and defense—he called the young star a "unicorn."

"I feel great about it," Armstead said when asked about Hunter's dual role. "I said this about Travis when I first met him, when we drafted him, and I was honored to be able to welcome him to the NFL on the draft stage, but Travis is truly a unicorn. He can do whatever he puts his mind to. I'm excited."

The conversation around Hunter's usage has been one of the biggest storylines of the Jaguars' offseason. While outside speculation has swirled, general manager James Gladstone and head coach Liam Coen have remained consistent: Hunter will continue to see action on both sides of the ball. The question isn't if he'll play both ways—it's how the snaps will be distributed.

Last season, before a knee injury sidelined him, Hunter saw the majority of his playing time at wide receiver. This year, however, Gladstone has hinted at an "uptick" in cornerback usage. That likely means Hunter will line up opposite Montaric Brown in the secondary, while still getting plenty of opportunities as a pass-catcher on offense.

Hunter is currently working his way back during offseason programs, but Gladstone expects him to be at "full tick" by the time training camp rolls around. Once he's healthy, the Jaguars are banking on him being a game-changer on both sides of the line.

Armstead summed it up best: "He's just gotta get healthy and get back out there on the field. He showed what he's capable of when he played early in the season. He's a playmaker. He's a difference-maker. He brings that energy and that spark that we need to our team. We're excited to have Travis back playing wherever the coaches see fit. He can do it all."

For a Jaguars team looking to make noise in a competitive AFC South, Hunter's return—and his versatility—could be the ultimate wildcard. Whether he's torching secondaries or locking down receivers, one thing is clear: the Jaguars have a unicorn, and they're ready to let him run.
