Seven months ago, when Jackson LaCombe inked a landmark $72 million contract extension with the Anaheim Ducks, the internet had one question: "Who's that?"

If you're still asking that question after watching him dominate his first Stanley Cup Playoff series, you haven't been paying attention.

LaCombe just delivered a coming-out party for the ages. In six games against the two-time conference champion Edmonton Oilers, the Ducks' top defenseman tallied nine points—second only to Leon Draisaitl across the entire NHL—while logging a grueling 27 minutes per game. Terry added: "He's been our leader out there, honestly. He's been carrying the play on both ends, and we're lucky to have him."

As Anaheim's 26-goal barrage in the first round proved, LaCombe's puck-moving ability is elite. But it's his two-way game and composure under pressure that have elevated him from a name on a contract to a household one in the hockey world.
