Tennessee sophomore Jackson Herrington is living the dream at Augusta National. The long-hitting lefty made his major championship debut at the 2026 Masters on April 9th, teeing it up alongside 2009 champion Angel Cabrera and Finland's Sami Valimaki. Herrington, a U.S. Amateur finalist, earned his spot in the field and carded a respectable 4-over 76 in his first competitive look at the iconic course.
“I wasn't terribly nervous until I heard my name called on the first tee,” Herrington admitted. “Then I was like, ‘Oh, this is actually happening.’” He navigated the famed layout with poise, playing the front nine 3-over and the back nine 1-over.
His second round is underway, teeing off at 11:27 a.m. ET on April 10th. Fans can follow his progress live, and Herrington has a clear path to a return invitation: finish in the top 12. It's a tall order, but Augusta has been kind to left-handed swingers like Phil Mickelson and Bubba Watson in the past.
At just 19 years old, the Dickson, Tennessee native is already making waves. After a strong freshman season with the Volunteers and his U.S. Amateur run, he's now testing his game on golf's grandest stage. Follow along to see if this talented amateur can make a weekend charge at the Masters.
