Now at 39, questions about age and endurance are starting to surface. Can he still compete at the highest level? Ana Ivanovic, a former world number one and longtime friend of Djokovic, believes the answer is a resounding yes.

"I mean, what he's achieved, it's really incredible," Ivanovic told Eurosport. "We've known each other since we were very, very young, and we've been friends for a long time. It's very inspiring to see that and to give that much back to Serbia and the next generation."

Ivanovic, who won the French Open in 2008, emphasized that Djokovic's game remains sharp. "I definitely think he has a chance to win another Grand Slam. His game is still at a very high level; he can compete with the top guys. If you look at the Grand Slams, he was in the semi-finals and finals, so one step closer to the title. But an incredible career, and not something that will be easy to match."

Djokovic's path to a 25th major just got a little clearer. This month, Carlos Alcaraz confirmed he won't participate in the French Open after winning back-to-back titles there in 2024 and 2025. The young Spaniard was tipped for a three-peat, but his absence reshuffles the deck. Jannik Sinner now steps in as the favorite, but Djokovic is far from an afterthought.

It's worth remembering that Djokovic got the better of Sinner at this year's Australian Open. If he can replicate that performance on the clay courts of Paris, the long-awaited 25th Grand Slam might finally become a reality.
