With two games remaining of the Premier League season, Tottenham and West Ham are the two horse left in the race to survive relegation.

The Premier League relegation battle is down to two teams—and only one can survive. With just two matches left in the season, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United are locked in a tense fight to avoid joining already-relegated Burnley and Wolves in the Championship next year.

Sitting in 17th place, Spurs currently hold a two-point lead over the 18th-placed Hammers, along with a superior goal difference. That margin could have been four points, but Roberto de Zerbi’s side could only manage a 1-1 draw against Leeds United on Monday. It was yet another frustrating result for Tottenham, who still haven’t won a home Premier League match since early December. "If we want to win, we have to reduce the mistakes," De Zerbi admitted after the match.

For West Ham, the situation is even more dire. Nuno Espirito Santo’s team suffered a heartbreaking 1-0 loss to league leaders Arsenal on Sunday, after Callum Wilson’s stoppage-time equalizer was ruled out by VAR. "It's going to be tough—we know it is not in our hands," Nuno said. "We will fight for it and we will keep on fighting."

The math is simple now: With Leeds, Crystal Palace, and Nottingham Forest all securing their safety last weekend, the relegation battle is a two-horse race. According to the Opta supercomputer, Tottenham have just a 19.54% chance of going down, while West Ham face a daunting 80.46% probability of relegation.

This weekend could shift everything. West Ham travel to St James' Park to face Newcastle United on Saturday—a team they beat 3-1 at home in November. A win would leapfrog them above Spurs by a single point, pushing Tottenham into the relegation zone. But anything less than victory keeps the advantage with Spurs, who play at Chelsea two days later. A win at Stamford Bridge would secure their safety, though recent history suggests that’s no guarantee.

For fans of both clubs, every kick, every goal, every VAR decision carries immense weight. The final two matchdays promise drama, heartbreak, and a fight to the finish. Who will survive? The answer is just days away.
