Big Blue Nation may have to say goodbye to a key piece of its frontcourt. Reports indicate that Kentucky forward Andrija Jelavić, a 6-foot-11 rising junior from Croatia, is set to enter the transfer portal after just one season in Lexington.

If confirmed, Jelavić would become the fifth Wildcat to seek a new home this offseason, joining forwards Mouhamed Dioubate and Brandon Garrison, along with guards Jasper Johnson and Jaland Lowe. This movement underscores the fluid nature of modern college basketball rosters.

Jelavić's journey this past season was a true testament to perseverance. After a promising start where he played double-digit minutes off the bench in Kentucky's first ten games, his role nearly vanished. During a critical five-game stretch from mid-December to early January, he saw the court for a mere seven total minutes.

However, his response defined his year. Coach Mark Pope reinserted him into the starting lineup for a road game at LSU on January 14th, and Jelavić never looked back, holding that starting spot for the final 20 games of the 2025-26 campaign. He solidified himself as a reliable interior presence, finishing the season averaging 5.5 points and 4 rebounds in 15.6 minutes per game.

While his overall field goal percentage was a solid 47.7%, his three-point shot—anticipated to be a weapon—never fully materialized, as he connected on just 27.1% from beyond the arc. His best offensive performances came in wins over LSU, Eastern Illinois, and South Carolina, where he scored 11 points in each contest, and he grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds against Tennessee Tech in November.
