Iowa football kept it going in recruiting on Tuesday with the commitment of an in-state 2027 EDGE.

The Iowa Hawkeyes' recruiting efforts continue to build momentum, securing a key piece for the future with a Tuesday night commitment from in-state 2027 edge rusher Jerrence Knoblock.

Knoblock, a towering 6-foot-6, 220-pound prospect from West Lyon High School in Inwood, announced his decision on social media. He chose the Hawkeyes over offers from FCS powerhouses North Dakota State, South Dakota, and South Dakota State, demonstrating the program's strong pull within the region.

This commitment provides a bright spot for the Hawkeye faithful, coming on the same day the program faced NCAA sanctions related to a past recruiting violation. Knoblock brings a winning pedigree to Iowa City, having helped lead West Lyon to an undefeated season and a Class 2A state championship in 2025.

As a versatile defensive lineman, Knoblock projects as a disruptive force off the edge, a role highly valued in the defensive-minded Big Ten. He becomes the eighth member and the second edge rusher in Iowa's 2027 recruiting class, joining three-star Tommy Riordan. This early foundational work has the class currently ranked 22nd nationally by 247Sports, signaling a strong future for the Hawkeyes' defensive front.
