After a stellar junior year with Iowa basketball this past season, rising senior forward Alvaro Folgueiras has committed to Louisville out of the NCAA's transfer portal.
During the 6-foot-10 Spaniard's lone campaign in Iowa City, Folgueiras averaged 8.4 points and 3.6 rebounds per game, while shooting 50% from the field, 33.3% from 3-point range, and 76.7% from the free throw line, playing around 21 minutes per game across 37 games.
However, his clutch performance during Iowa's March Madness run drastically raised his national stock after a game-winning three-point shot against No. 1-seeded Florida in the Round of 32 and his exclamation-point dunk against No. 4-seeded Nebraska in the Sweet 16.

For Folgueiras, he now joins a Louisville squad that has quickly assembled an increasingly promising core of players entering head coach Pat Kelly's third season with the Cardinals and a program that looks to make significant noise within the ACC and in the national tournament.
