Mohau Nkota might be the life of the locker room, but once he steps onto the pitch for Al Ettifaq, the jokes stop and the business begins. The South African international, widely regarded as one of Africa's brightest talents, has seamlessly transitioned to the Roshn Saudi League, making a strong first impression after his move from Orlando Pirates last summer.

His secret to a smooth transition? A personality that instantly connects. "A lot of the Saudi guys, I'm close to them… they like my vibe," Nkota shared in an interview. "I love to joke around and be with people. That's how I am." This easy-going nature has helped him integrate quickly into the Dammam dressing room, though his signature smile disappears when the whistle blows, replaced by fierce competitive focus.

That focus has translated into solid performances. In his debut RSL season, Nkota has notched two goals and two assists in 18 appearances, including a stunning strike on his debut against Al Kholood last August. He's become part of an exciting wave of young talent making their mark in Saudi football.

While some were surprised he left the continental giant Orlando Pirates, for Nkota, the move was a clear step in his career path. "As Africans, not all of us want to stay in Africa and play in Africa," he explained. "Most of us want to play overseas... to get to experience leagues in other countries." The opportunity arose while he was in national team camp, leading to a pivotal call that set his Saudi journey in motion.
