The Kentucky Basketball coaching staff has had a busy couple of weeks as the transfer portal has finally come into full swing. The Cats have nine players on the roster for the 2026-27 season, giving Pope about six spots to fill.
According to Jacob Polacheck of KSR, the Wildcats are interested in international prospect Ousmane N’Diaye. The 6-foot-11, 210-pound big man is still waiting for NCAA clearance, but there is an expectation that it could be granted soon. The Senegal native would be a huge addition for a team like Kentucky in desperate need of frontcourt help.
N’Diaye is a 22-year-old from Guediawaye, Senegal, in Africa. He participated in the BWB basketball camp in 2016, first making a name for himself in the basketball world. Former UK player Eric Bledsoe was a coach at this camp.
N’Diaye had a solid 2025-26 season playing overseas. He spent time with Vanoli Cremona, averaging 10.2 points (42.1% shooting from the field, 6.7 rebounds, 0.9 steals, and 0.5 blocks in 27.3 minutes per game.
N’Diaye has been on NBA Draft boards for a few years now. He originally entered his name into the 2023 draft, then withdrew before the deadline. He kept his name in the 2025 draft but was unfortunately not selected.
The athletic big man has raw talent and a solid game. N’Diaye has also been extending his game behind the arc and developing his jumper. From 3-point range, he shot 32.1% on 5.0 attempts per game this past season.
There’s a real reason for the Wildcats to be interested in N’Diaye.
