Reyam Lucas, a Brazilian content creator and rising soccer star, reportedly died in a drowning incident. He was 27.

Lucas's death was confirmed on Instagram by two different soccer teams — Amantes da Pelada and Seleção Nova Ibiaense — with which he was affiliated.

“Your joy was contagious; your playful spirit brought laughter even on the toughest days, and your lighthearted way of living made everything seem more beautiful,” penned the latter in a statement. “Today, the field falls silent, the stands feel your absence, and our hearts carry an immense longing for you. Yet we are certain that, from up above, you will continue to cheer us on — with that same smile, and with the same energy that has always inspired us.”

According to local outlets Marca and El Heraldo, Lucas was swimming in Pancada Grande, a natural waterfall in Ituberá, Brazil, when he did not return to the surface. His body was recovered by authorities several hours later, the outlets reported. His death was initially classified as an accidental drowning, though his body was sent for an autopsy to determine an official cause of death.

On Instagram, Lucas was known for sharing fitness, comedy and sports content.

He seemingly last updated his account on April 20, sharing a video dancing in the streets, which he captioned, “HELP ME HIT 20 k 🤣🤣🤣🤣”

In the comments of the post, fans and followers posted tributes to the late internet personality.

“A PURE GUY, I STILL CAN'T BELIEVE IT 😭😭😭😭, my condolences to the family 🙌🙏🏽🙌🙏🏽🙌🙏🏽,” wrote one.
