The Green Bay Blizzard rallied from down two scores multiple times on Saturday in a 57-52 road win over the Fishers Freight in a battle for first place in the Indoor Football League’s Eastern Conference.

The Green Bay Blizzard delivered a thrilling comeback performance on Saturday, storming back from multiple two-score deficits to defeat the host Fishers Freight 57-52 and claim sole possession of first place in the Indoor Football League's Eastern Conference.

In what has quickly become one of the season's most electrifying matchups, the Blizzard (6-1 overall, 5-1 conference) and Freight (5-2, 4-2) proved why they've been the class of the IFL early on. The back-and-forth battle kept fans on the edge of their seats from start to finish.

Green Bay quarterback Liam Thompson was the star of the show, completing 17 of 22 passes for 209 yards and three touchdowns while adding three more scores on the ground. His dual-threat ability kept the Fishers defense guessing all night. On the other side, Freight running back Josiah King led all players with 90 rushing yards on 15 carries and two touchdowns, while quarterback Felix Harper went 10-of-14 for 95 yards and two passing scores, also rushing for two more.

The game started with Fishers jumping out to a 9-0 lead on a two-yard King run and a successful point-after and deuce conversion from kicker Andrew Mevis. But the Blizzard showed their resilience early, tying it at 16-16 on a Thompson rushing touchdown that came off a clever double play-fake.

Just when it looked like Fishers might pull away—especially after Harper's second rushing touchdown, a nifty pass-fake similar to Thompson's, gave the Freight a 30-16 lead with 3:33 left in the second quarter—Green Bay refused to fold.

The Blizzard outscored the Freight 34-22 in the second half to complete the comeback. After falling behind 46-43 midway through the fourth quarter, Thompson found Terrell Carey for a short touchdown to take the lead for good with 5:19 remaining. Fishers mounted one last rally with a Harper-to-CJ Windham touchdown with 39 seconds left, but couldn't recover the onside kick to get the ball back for a potential winning score.

The Blizzard return home for Week 9 to host the Quad City Steamwheelers on Friday at 8 p.m. ET, while the Freight travel to Orlando for a Saturday showdown with the Pirates at 5 p.m. ET.
