Indiana men's basketball is seeing another guard explore new opportunities, as freshman Aleksa Ristic has entered the transfer portal. The move, confirmed Wednesday, marks a quick end to his tenure with the Hoosiers after just one season.
Ristic arrived in Bloomington with international pedigree, having honed his skills for three years with KK Dynamic in the Serbian KSL. The guard averaged a solid 13.6 points and 4.2 assists overseas before joining Indiana as a true freshman for the 2025-26 campaign.
His collegiate career got off to a delayed start due to an injury, with his debut finally coming in a December road loss at Minnesota. From there, playing time proved hard to come by. Despite Indiana's noted need for depth at the point guard position, Ristic saw action in only 12 total games, never logging more than seven minutes in any single contest.
This decision underscores the fluid nature of modern college rosters and the quest for the right fit. As Ristic looks to continue his collegiate career elsewhere, the Hoosiers will now turn their attention to reshaping their backcourt for the upcoming season.
