Indiana football is making moves to lock down in-state talent, extending a scholarship offer this week to Fort Wayne edge rusher Ifeanyi Emedobi. The 3-star prospect from Northrop High School has been turning heads across the Midwest, and the Hoosiers are the latest to join the chase.

Rated as a 3-star by both 247Sports and Rivals, Emedobi brings serious potential to the table. 247Sports' composite rankings place him as the 36th-best edge rusher nationally, the 10th-best player in Indiana, and No. 430 overall. That's the kind of recognition that puts him on the radar of some heavy hitters—he already holds offers from Notre Dame, Cincinnati, and a slew of Big Ten programs including Penn State, Illinois, Minnesota, Maryland, Rutgers, Wisconsin, and Nebraska.

For Indiana, this offer signals a continued push to build from the ground up. The Hoosiers currently have four commits in the 2027 class, but none along the defensive line. That's a gap the staff is clearly looking to fill, having already extended multiple offers to defensive line prospects at both edge and tackle. While Indiana's recent success up front has come largely through the transfer portal, head coach Curt Cignetti and his crew are doubling down on high school recruiting for long-term stability. Emedobi represents a key piece in that puzzle—a local talent who could anchor the edge for years to come.
