Minnesota appears to have found its groove in the playoff gauntlet against Denver heading into Saturday’s Game 4 showdown at the Target Center. After losing Game 1 in Colorado, the Timberwolves have pulled off back-to-back wins and are now targeting a two-game lead over the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference.

Home advantage appeared to tell in a big way for Chris Finch’s side last time out, where the opening two quarters paved the way to a wide-out 113-96 win in the first game of the series to be held in Minneapolis. The Nuggets stormed back to edge the last two quarters, though not in any way meaningful enough to overturn the result.

Forward Aaron Gordon was ruled out of Game 3 due to tightness in his calf and is still considered day-to-day heading back to the Target Center this weekend. Denver is still the slight favorite to come out on top in the return fixture, though losing the talents of one of their top rebounders, second only to Nikola Jokic, for another game could prove costly.

Meanwhile, Minnesota will have one eye on the availability of Anthony Edwards, who was withdrawn after an injury in the second half. The star guard came back to sit on the bench, much to the enjoyment of the home fans, but didn’t return to the court as Finch holds his breath in one update that could dictate Saturday’s outcome alone.
