Kansas City took Friday’s opener 6–3, using a five-run fourth inning to back rookie starter Noah Cameron, while Elias Díaz delivered a key two-run double and Isaac Collins added an RBI single.
The Royals followed that with a 12–1 blowout on Saturday, as Cole Ragans struck out 11 over six innings, Salvador Perez homered and had three hits, and Nick Loftin drove in four runs.
The Angels enter Sunday trying to stop a skid after losing six of their last seven games, and their pitching staff struggled badly Saturday with 10 walks, including two with the bases loaded.
Los Angeles got its only run Saturday on a Jo Adell homer, while Kansas City improved to 9–17 and Los Angeles fell to 12–15 entering Sunday’s finale.
