Chelsea are back in action tomorrow night, away to fellow midtable mediocres Brighton & Hove Albion. It’s not much of a turnaround from Saturday night’s disappointment: not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing. Not sure it matters.
What might matter is getting João Pedro back. Unfortunately, Liam Rosenior was not quite able to assure that JP would be fit enough after missing out this weekend — especially with a perhaps more important match coming up on the weekend, the FA Cup semifinal against Leeds United. To make matter worse, Estêvão is injured and it could be a while before he’s able to return (i.e. next season).
“João will be a late call. He was out on the pitch today and we’ll make a decision on him tomorrow morning, so that’s good, positive, because he’ll be back sooner rather than later. Este, he’s definitely out for tomorrow, which is a real shame and we’re doing our further tests and investigation into his injury and Enzo is absolutely fine.”
On the plus side, Enzo’s issue late in Saturday’s game was just a cramp and Trev Chalobah made his return in that game as a substitute as well.
