The Cleveland Browns just finished a very successful draft for the second year in a row, with it being called “a potential home run class.” But now, we do our annual way-too-early look into the future to 2027 mock drafts.

In the 2027 SB Nation Mock Draft, they have the Browns selecting fourth overall and taking Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver Jeremiah Smith. “What about quarterback?” Well, author James Dator has QB Dante Moore going to the Dolphins at No. 1, QB Arch Manning going to the Jets at No. 2, and QB Julian Sayin going to the Cardinals at No. 3. A little later in the first round, he also has QB D.J. Lagway going to the Steelers at No. 9.

In an ideal world, the Browns would somehow figure out their quarterback situation in 2026 under new head coach Todd Monken. However, the school of thought all along seemed to be that if the Browns needed a quarterback in the draft, it was better to wait until the loaded class in 2027 as opposed to the thinner class this year, which really only had QB Fernando Mendoza as a coveted player.

Looking at a few other 2027 mock drafts, CBS Sports has the Browns taking EDGE Colin Simmons out of Texas at No. 4 overall:

A former five-star out of Duncanville High School (Texas), Simmons burst onto the collegiate scene, finishing just shy of double-digit sacks as a freshman before adding 12 more as a sophomore. A quick-twitch, explosive pass rusher with relentless tenacity, he possesses rare physical tools off the edge that help offset concerns about his length and overall mass at the next level.

In the USA Today mock draft, they have the Browns taking QB CJ Carr of Notre Dame at No. 7 overall:

The nightmarish Deshaun Watson ordeal can finally come to a close after this season, though its specter will remain even beyond the dead cap hits that Cleveland is set to carry in future years. Moving on would be a lot easier if the Browns could pull themselves out of quarterback purgatory with a figure like Carr. The 6-3, 210-pound passer will have to prove this season that he can drive an offense without Jeremiyah Love and Jadrian Price, but his poise and efficiency already stand out.

FanDuel already has odds out on who the No. 1 pick will be for the 2027 NFL Draft. Arch Manning leads the way at 1.5/1, followed by Dante Moore at 5.5/1, CJ Carr at 6/1, Jeremiah Smith at 6.5/1, and Julian Sayan at 10/1.
