Every jersey tells a story, and for the Houston Rockets, the No. 14 has been worn by 11 different players over the decades. Today, we’re spotlighting the fourth man to don that number: Richie Frahm, who brought his sharpshooting skills to H-Town during the 2006-07 season.

Frahm’s path to the Rockets wasn’t a straight line. After a standout college career at Gonzaga, the Battle Ground, Washington native went undrafted in 2000. He honed his game overseas and in domestic leagues before finally breaking into the NBA with the Seattle SuperSonics in 2003. From there, he suited up for the Portland Trail Blazers and Minnesota Timberwolves before the Rockets claimed him off waivers in 2006.

His stint in Houston was brief but memorable. Frahm exclusively wore No. 14 during his time with the team, averaging 5.3 points and 1.3 rebounds per game. While those numbers might not jump off the page, his role as a reliable wing off the bench added depth to a Rockets squad that was building toward contention.

The Rockets have a rich history of jersey numbers—52 different digits have been worn by nearly 500 players since the franchise’s founding in 1967. Seven of those jerseys now hang in the rafters, retired to honor the legends who defined the team. Frahm’s No. 14 might not be among them, but it’s a reminder of the journeymen and grinders who helped shape the Rockets’ identity.
