SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — After suffering its first loss a day earlier, Angelo State bounced back with a dominant performance on Sunday, April 19.
After a program-best 19-0 start to its 2026 regular season, Angelo State suffered its first loss Saturday afternoon versus Lone Star Conference rival UT Tyler, 5-2. One day later, the Rambelles quickly rejoined the win column in their final home match of the year, crushing UT Dallas.
ASU claimed the doubles point to lead the match 1-0, winning the sets by scores of 6-1, 6-4 and 6-3. The Rambelles never looked back from that point on, dominating their way through each singles match.
Sasa Felixova was the first to finish a singles match, winning her sets 6-0 and 6-1. ASU led 3-0 before Benedetta Raggiotti clinched the match for ASU with her team’s fourth point. Vasilissa Kupriianova sealed the deal, clinching ASU’s seventh point to secure the 7-0 sweep.
Angelo State improves to 20-1 overall and 7-1 in conference play. The Rambelles visit Lubbock Christian and UT Permian Basin next weekend for their final regular season matches.
