The Milwaukee Bucks officially welcomed Taylor Jenkins as their new head coach on May 6, hosting a spirited press conference at the Milwaukee Art Museum that drew about 500 fans, players, and staff. The 40-minute event marked a fresh chapter for the franchise, with Jenkins stepping in to lead a team hungry to return to its winning ways.
Bucks co-owner Jimmy Haslam and general manager Jon Horst joined Jenkins on stage, while players Myles Turner, Bobby Portis Jr., AJ Green, Pete Nance, and Cormac Ryan showed their support from the audience. The front office and player development teams were also in attendance, underscoring the collective excitement around the new hire.
Horst set the tone in his opening remarks, emphasizing that this isn't about tearing down but building up. "We want a build—this isn't about rebuilding," Horst said. "This is about being better than we were yesterday, getting better every single day. We want to build something special, an identity and a culture, and get back to the sustained success we've known for nearly a decade. Taylor is the person to do it."
Jenkins, known for his player-centric approach, shared what drew him to Milwaukee. "It was pretty easy for me—it's people," he said. "That's one of the most important things in my life, professionally and personally. I've known Jon for years, and I have high regard for him, not just professionally but personally. Spending time with this group, I knew this was the right fit."
Haslam also hinted at a more hands-on role with the team moving forward. "I think we'll be here more," he said. "I'm very excited to work with Jon and Taylor to build the kind of team this community deserves."
As the Bucks gear up for the NBA draft and decisions on stars like Giannis Antetokounmpo loom, Jenkins' arrival signals a commitment to both continuity and evolution. For fans and players alike, the message is clear: Milwaukee is ready to compete—and look good doing it.
