Chase Brooks, a seasoned veteran with six consecutive National Finals Rodeo qualifications from 2018, is right in the thick of it. After posting an 86.5-point ride on Pete Carr Pro Rodeo's High Dive during Thursday's performance, he secured his spot in the finale. For Brooks, success is a blend of preparation, partnership with the animal, and perspective. "You just show up, do what we do all year, and I figure it’s going to lay the way God has it planned," he said.

That mindset has been crucial for the 31-year-old, who now calls Brock, Texas, home. After injuries disrupted his momentum over the past two years, time spent recovering with his young family provided a different kind of strength. "I think Him giving me a break like that was maybe the best thing that could ever happen to me," Brooks reflected. Now, he's back and riding with renewed focus, currently sitting sixth in the world standings.

His draw, High Dive, proved to be a perfect match. Having seen the horse's potential in an earlier ride by Kolby Wanchuk, Brooks knew the animal had matured into a premier bronc. "He showed up, and I was happy I matched it," Brooks stated after his solid performance.
