Despite a rainy Thursday that washed out much of the high school sports schedule, a handful of athletes still managed to deliver standout performances. Here are the top performers from May 14, proving that even wet weather can't dampen elite talent.

In boys lacrosse, multiple players exploded for big scoring nights. Two athletes each found the net five times in a 16-12 win over Northbridge for the Eagles (6-9-1, 3-6 CMAC A), showing resilience in slippery conditions. Meanwhile, the Franklin Panthers got a four-goal performance in a 15-2 victory against Sharon, with Ryder Hanchett (assist) and Quinn Kielty each adding three goals and Charlie Ballarino contributing a goal and two assists. Panther goalie Dean Lawless also stood tall, stopping 12 shots.

On the girls lacrosse side, one standout notched 3 goals, 3 assists, 2 ground balls, and a caused turnover in a 17-2 win over Dedham. Taylor Interrante scored four times with an assist, while Avery Quebec added a goal and three assists for the Hillers (12-4, 9-3 TVL). Hopkinton's Siya Bonala contributed 3 goals, 2 assists, and 2 draw controls, and Abby Burke put up 2 goals, 2 assists, 6 draw controls, and a ground ball.

In boys lacrosse, another athlete scored four times in a 19-3 rout of Worcester. Logan Nystrom secured a hat trick for Assabet (6-9, 4-4 CMAC B), while Jayden Alvarez, Shane Monaco, and Luke Ryan each found the net twice. Goalies combined for a shutout in a 13-0 victory against Dedham, with Will Iantosca also recording a hat trick for the Hillers (10-4, 8-3 TVL).

On the volleyball court, one player pushed out 36 assists with 4 kills and 2 blocks in a 3-0 win over Newton North. Mike Costa had 12 kills for the Redhawks (12-2), while Evan Katz put down seven and Matt Andrade (three blocks) added six.

In track and field, a female athlete won the shot put, javelin, and 400 hurdles in a 75-69 win over North Middlesex. Samantha Mahoney was first in the discus at 104 feet, 2 inches and the pole vault, while Lilli Rosenau crossed the line first in the 800 for the Panthers (1-5, 1-3 Mid-Wach B). Another standout found the net six times in a girls lacrosse matchup, showcasing the depth of talent across sports.

Even with the rain making conditions tricky, these athletes proved that great performances can happen anytime, anywhere. For those looking to gear up like the pros, staying dry and comfortable with the right apparel is key—whether it's for practice, games, or just cheering from the sidelines.
