The Oneonta tennis team continues to dominate the Southern Tier Athletic Conference, maintaining their perfect record with a commanding 7-0 sweep over Norwich at Wilber Park. The victory was anchored by a strong performance at first singles, where Derek Fronckowiak secured a solid 6-3, 6-4 win against Liam Hunter.

Oneonta's depth was on full display across the lineup. Ethan Temming delivered a decisive 6-2, 6-2 victory at second singles, while Anthony Iannelli battled through a tough three-setter at third singles, ultimately winning 6-2, 6-7 (7-9), 10-4. The doubles teams were equally impressive, with the first duo of Miles Gelbsman and Nico Iannelli and the second pair of Jordan Fronckowiak and Ibraheem Khan both posting dominant 6-0, 6-1 and 6-0, 6-0 wins, respectively.

Now 5-0 overall and 3-0 in the STAC, Oneonta looks to carry this momentum into their next conference match at Windsor.

On the softball diamond, Cherry Valley-Springfield/Sharon Springs unleashed an offensive explosion, defeating Worcester 25-1 in a Tri-Valley League matchup. Bailey Thayer was the star of the show, striking out 11 batters in four innings from the circle while also driving in six runs at the plate. The team's 12-run second inning sealed the victory early, showcasing the kind of explosive teamwork that defines a winning season.

In a thrilling extra-inning contest, the Cooperstown Hawkeyes fell just short against Oriskany, 9-8. Despite a strong start and a ten-strikeout performance from Carlotta Falso, Oriskany mounted a late comeback. The game was decided in the eighth inning on a clutch double by Kaelyn Mayo. While it was a tough loss for Cooperstown, the back-and-forth battle highlights the intensity of early-season conference play.
