When Davis and Farmington meet on the pitch, you can always expect a battle. The Region 1 rivalry added another intense chapter Wednesday night, with Davis ultimately holding off a fierce Farmington comeback to secure a hard-fought 3-2 victory at home.

The Darts came out flying, executing their game plan to perfection in a dominant first half. Cooper Harwood opened the scoring in the 13th minute, driving up the left side and finishing clinically. The momentum continued as Tyler Roe found the net in the 28th minute. Just before halftime, Harwood turned provider, delivering a perfect cross that Kasen Smith redirected home for a commanding 3-0 lead.

"We've been preparing for this the whole season," Smith said. "This is a big rivalry game, so we just prepared like we did every other game, and we're lucky to come up on top today."

But as any soccer fan knows, a three-goal lead is never safe, especially against a quality opponent. The second half was a story of resilience and rising tension. Farmington's Phoenix, a lethal attacking side all season, roared back to life. Kade Mackintosh struck just four minutes after the restart, cutting the deficit to 3-1 and completely shifting the game's energy.

The match grew increasingly physical and chippy, a hallmark of this fierce local rivalry. A total of four yellow cards were assessed as the intensity boiled over. "With Farmington, I haven't played a game where it's not been chippy," Smith noted. "So, we just got to keep our heads a little better."

Farmington pressed desperately for another goal, putting the Davis defense under sustained pressure. The Darts, who had looked so fluid in the first half, were forced to dig deep and defend their box with grit and determination. In the end, they managed to weather the storm, showcasing the mental toughness required to close out a tight, emotional win against a top rival. This kind of performance—combining technical skill with sheer willpower—is what defines champions at every level of the game.
