Ireland head coach Scott Bemand has made one key change to his starting XV for Saturday's Women's Six Nations clash against Wales at the Affidea Stadium, as the team looks to build momentum in the tournament's second half.

Eve Higgins returns to the centre position, replacing Nancy McGillivray—who is not included in the matchday squad—as the sole alteration from the 26-7 defeat against France in Clermont two weeks ago. Higgins, a dynamic presence in midfield, started the opening 33-12 loss to England before coming off the bench in the impressive 57-20 win over Italy and the recent setback against France.

After a well-timed fallow week, Ireland will aim to bounce back and secure their second home victory of the campaign. The team has shown flashes of brilliance, particularly in that dominant performance against Italy, and will look to replicate that form against a Wales side still searching for their first win after defeats to Scotland, France, and England.

Stacey Flood continues her solid run at full-back, with the explosive Beibhinn Parsons on the right wing and Robyn O'Connor on the left. Aoife Dalton partners Higgins in midfield, while the half-back pairing of Dannah O'Brien and Emily Lane—who boasts three try assists in this year's tournament—remains unchanged.

Up front, the front row of Ellena Perry, Cliodhna Moloney-MacDonald (who scored Ireland's only try against France), and Linda Djougang holds firm. Dorothy Wall and Fiona Tuite, the latter having played every minute of the tournament so far, anchor the second row. The back row of Aoife Wafer, captain Erin King, and Brittany Hogan continues for the fourth consecutive game, providing consistency and physicality.

Bemand has opted for a 6:2 split on the bench, with several changes to the replacements. Sadh McGrath and Grace Moore return to the squad, while 20-year-old full-back Niamh Gallagher is poised to make her debut off the bench—an exciting prospect for Irish fans.

Ireland team to face Wales: Flood; Parsons, Dalton, Higgins, O'Connor; O'Brien, Lane; Perry, Moloney-MacDonald, Djougang, Wall, Tuite, Hogan, King (capt), Wafer.

Replacements: Jones, McGrath, Cahill, Campbell, Monaghan, Moore, Whelan, Gallagher.

With two games remaining in the tournament, Ireland will be eager to finish strong and build on their promising moments. For Wales, it's a chance to turn their campaign around. Expect a fiercely contested battle at the Affidea Stadium.
