The Lakers are taking a commanding series lead to Houston.
The first round playoff series between the Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets continues with Game 3 tonight. The Lakers currently lead 2-0.
Kevin Durant returned to the lineup for the Rockets in Game 2 after missing Game 1 with a knee contusion and logged 23 points, but only three of those came in the second half and he was also forced into nine turnovers in the loss.
The Lakers’ supporting cast played a massive role in the win, particularly with Marcus Smart and Luke Kennard stepping up in the absence of Luka Dončić and Austin Reaves. Smart contributed a crucial 25 points and 5 steals, while Kennard’s perimeter shooting added 23 points to keep the Rockets’ defense stretched thin.
The Lakers and Rockets will be back in action on Sunday for Game 4.
Game 3 of the Lakers vs. Rockets playoff series tips off tonight (April 24) at 5 p.m. PT / 8 p.m. ET.
