The second-ranked Hawaii men's volleyball team gave their home crowd a senior night to remember, and they did it with authority. By sweeping No. 18 Cal State Northridge in straight sets (25-20, 25-16, 25-16), the Rainbow Warriors officially clinched the No. 1 seed for the upcoming Outrigger Big West Championship.

Playing in front of 6,765 fans at the Stan Sheriff Center, Hawaii (25-4, 8-1 Big West) secured at least a share of the Big West regular-season title for the third time in program history. They can win it outright with a victory in tonight's regular-season finale against CSUN or a Long Beach State loss to UC Irvine.

"You win the Big West regular season, you are absolutely in the running to win a national championship," said head coach Charlie Wade. "Winning league championships in this league is hard to do."

The victory was a complete team effort. Kainoa Wade, making his first start since the Outrigger Invitational, led the offensive charge with 10 kills and an ace, while sophomore middle Ofeck Hazan anchored the defense with a career-high seven blocks. The team's 12.5 total blocks were a decisive factor in controlling the match's tempo.

The night held special significance beyond the standings. With a commanding lead late in the match, the team's only senior, Vladimir Kubr, entered to a massive standing ovation, a poignant moment that highlighted the team's camaraderie and the celebratory atmosphere.

With the top seed locked up, Hawaii now looks ahead. After tonight's finale, they will enjoy a bye into the Big West semifinals this Friday, where they will face the winner of the UC Santa Barbara vs. UC San Diego match. The path to a conference championship—and a deep national tournament run—runs straight through Honolulu.
