Harris English is a huge fan of the world number one golfer, Scottie Scheffler.

English and Scheffler have been Ryder Cup teammates on two separate teams and share a close relationship out on the PGA Tour.

The 29-year-old has been the dominant figure in professional golf over the past four years, and English has learned a lot from watching him.

Scheffler has won 20 times on the PGA Tour since February 2022, including four major championship victories.

Even this year, where he has struggled with his game at times, the Dallas native has one win and five top-five finishes to his name in eight starts.

In June, Scheffler will have the chance to complete the career Grand Slam at the U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills.

The fact that he has achieved everything he has in the game at this stage of his career is truly remarkable.

English has been speaking about the world number one golfer on the PGA Tour’s official X account.

He responded when asked what impresses him most about Scheffler.

“Just the way where his bad days aren’t that bad, he’s incredible to watch.

“I mean, people don’t see his work ethic, how much time he spends in the gym, how much time he spends on the range, the putting green, the chipping green.

“He’s got one of the best workout ethics I’ve ever seen in my life.

“For a guy who has been number one in the world for a few years now, he’s not stopping. He’s not backing off. He is not taking any time off.

“Like, he’s relentless in his pursuit of perfection, and it’s incredible to watch. He sets the bar really, really high for guys out here on the PGA Tour.“

Scheffler’s hard work has obviously paid off over the past few years.

The next stage of his career will be all about cementing his legacy as one of the greatest golfers of all time.

If the American wins one major championship every two years on average for the next 14 years, he will have 11 to his name by the time he’s 43.

During that time, if he wins two PGA Tour events per year on average, he’ll have 48 to his name in total.

It is more than realistic to suspect that Scheffler will be able to achieve those kinds of numbers over the next 10-15 years.

If he remains injury-free for the most part, Scheffler will almost certainly go down as one of the all-time golfing greats by the time he hangs up his clubs.
