In a high-octane Western AA baseball showdown Friday, the Flathead Braves delivered a powerful statement, overpowering Butte with an emphatic 11-6 victory on the road. The Braves' offense was firing on all cylinders, led by standout performances from Liam Rech and Jacobe Sullinger, who each drove in three runs to fuel the explosive attack.

The game got off to a blistering start for Flathead (6-9), as Rech ignited the scoring in the first inning. He sent Hunter Fann and Dillon Wink across the plate for an early 2-0 lead, setting the tone for what would be a relentless offensive display. Eli Coopman quickly followed suit, driving Rech home with his first of two doubles on the day.

Butte (3-6) showed resilience, answering with two runs in the bottom of the first to keep the game within reach. However, Flathead's bats proved too powerful to contain. Fann restored a three-run cushion with an RBI double to center field, and Sullinger delivered the knockout blow in the third inning with a three-run triple that stretched the lead to 8-2.

Despite a spirited rally from Butte, highlighted by RBI hits from Calvin Cunningham and Evan McEwen that narrowed the gap to 8-4, the Braves refused to relent. Fann added a clutch two-run double in the sixth inning, and Rech capped the scoring with a single that brought Fann home, sealing the 11-5 advantage before Butte added a late run.

Rech wasn't just a force at the plate—he also delivered a complete-game performance on the mound, allowing eight hits while striking out four batters. His dual-threat effort was the backbone of Flathead's commanding victory.

The Braves now turn their attention to the second Crosstown matchup of the season, set for Thursday at 5 p.m. at Griffin Field. With momentum on their side, Flathead will look to carry this hard-hitting energy into their next rivalry clash.
