Greene/Oxford Edges Delaware Academy in Pitching Duel

In a classic pitchers' battle, Greene/Oxford secured a hard-fought 2-0 victory over host Delaware Academy in Delhi. Blake Barrows delivered the game's only RBI and added a save for good measure, closing out the seventh inning with just one hit allowed. Adam Beckwith earned the win after six strong innings on the mound, scattering three hits and five walks while striking out one. For the Bulldogs, Lucas Nealis took the loss despite a complete-game effort, allowing six hits and striking out three over seven innings. Ayden Dix provided Delaware Academy's offensive highlight with a double. The Bulldogs (5-5, 3-2 MAC) look to rebound Friday at Deposit/Hancock.

Schenevus/Charlotte Valley Explodes for 18 Runs

The Dragons' bats came alive in a big way, rolling to an 18-6 non-league win over South Kortright/Margaretville in six innings. Tim Green led the charge with a 4-for-5 performance, including two doubles, an RBI, and three runs scored. Levi Jordan and Owen Green also contributed doubles as Schenevus/Charlotte Valley broke the game open with a nine-run sixth inning. Allen Osborne picked up the win, allowing just two hits and four walks while striking out five over three innings. Garrett Dropp took the loss for SK/M, but also stood out at the plate, going 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored. Evan Smith added two hits, an RBI, and a run, while J.B. Trimbell chipped in two hits and a run. South Kortright/Margaretville (6-2, 4-1) heads to the Calhoun Tournament on Saturday, while Schenevus/Charlotte Valley (7-3, 2-0) takes on Laurens/Milford in a Tri-Valley League matchup Friday.

Softball: Mount Markham Tops Cooperstown

On the softball diamond, Mount Markham defeated Cooperstown in a Center State Conference non-division clash. Kyra Piersma powered the Mustangs with a 3-for-5 day, driving in three runs and scoring three times. Abby Schoonover earned the win, striking out four while allowing just four hits. For Cooperstown, Kayleigh Butler went 2-for-2 with a run scored, while Sophia Johnson and Carlotta Falso each drove in a run. Falso also took the loss, striking out six but surrendering 12 hits and six walks over six innings. The Hawkeyes (1-7, 1-4) host Cincinnatus on Saturday.

Tennis: Margaretville Sweeps Andes

David Sanchez won twice at second singles to lead Margaretville to a Delaware League sweep over Andes. The hosts took all five singles matches, with Max Siciarz, Luke Bongo, and Blake Tallman also securing victories before Andes forfeited the doubles matches. The win keeps Margaretville perfect in league play.
