It was a thrilling Thursday of high school sports across the Green Bay area, with standout performances in baseball, softball, soccer, tennis, and golf. Here's a recap of the action that had fans on the edge of their seats.

Baseball: No-Hitter Highlights Dominant Pitching Day

Green Bay Preble's Will VanBoxel was untouchable on the mound, throwing a no-hitter to lead the Hornets to a 3-0 Fox River Classic Conference victory over De Pere. VanBoxel walked just one batter and struck out six, while Everett Sachs provided the offensive support with two hits, including a double. Green Bay Preble scored twice in the first inning and once in the fourth to secure the win. De Pere's Charles Buysse took the loss, allowing three runs on eight hits over five innings.

In other action, Seymour exploded for 14 runs in a dominant win over Menasha, scoring seven times in the first three innings and adding seven more in the sixth and seventh. The Thunder capitalized on eight Bluejays errors, with Nolan Beilfuss, Caden Steffens, Jordan Thompson, and Xavier Salzman each collecting two hits. Cayden Staffeldt drove in three runs, and Carson Staffeldt crossed the plate three times. Salzman earned the win on the mound, pitching 2⅓ innings.

Shawano jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back, cruising past Green Bay East/West. The Hawks' offense was fueled by nine hits and nine walks, while Grant Shaurette managed two hits for the Red Devils in the loss.

Luxemburg-Casco's Noah Chervenka was nearly perfect, tossing a complete-game shutout against Kewaunee. Chervenka allowed just one hit and two walks while striking out seven. Eli Derenne chipped in with a pair of singles for the Spartans. Kewaunee's Cooper Smith pitched 5⅔ innings, allowing three unearned runs on three hits and three walks, striking out eight in a tough-luck loss.

From the diamond to the pitch, it was a day full of energy and effort that any athlete would be proud to wear on their sleeve. Whether you're celebrating a no-hitter or gearing up for your next game, the right gear can make all the difference.
