Celtic FC Women suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat to league leaders Hearts over the weekend—a result that left manager Grant Scott reflecting on a mix of positives and negatives.

Speaking to Celtic TV after the match, Scott acknowledged the disappointment but remained measured. "Overall, I'm not massively displeased apart from the result, but I don't think it's been our best performance," he said. "I was a wee bit disappointed with the urgency we showed. At times, in flashes, we saw the attacking team I want us to be, but I don't think our quality shone through and we didn't create enough chances to put them under enough stress."

The match was a tight contest, with individual battles across the pitch. However, Scott felt his side failed to consistently threaten the opposition's goal. "It's always disappointing in a defeat, but we'll take what we can from it, take our learnings and try to keep moving on," he added.

Attention now turns to a massive Glasgow derby on Sunday, May 17, when Celtic take on Rangers at Broadwood Stadium (kick-off 4pm). The fixture serves as a dress rehearsal for the Scottish Cup final between the two sides later this month, adding extra spice to an already fierce rivalry.

"It's the oldest thing in football, but you need to dust yourself down from these tough moments," Scott said. "It's a good game to bounce back in, a good game to play in. They're always tough battles, but again, I'll ask the players for performance and quality over anything else next week, and we'll go into the game and try to win it."

With a cup final on the horizon, Sunday's derby offers Celtic a chance to build momentum and prove their mettle against their biggest rivals. Fans will be hoping for a performance that showcases the quality Scott knows his team possesses.
