When the Minnesota Vikings released both Javon Hargrave and Jonathan Allen, there was a massive hole on the interior of the defensive line. Well, the Vikings have done a great job filling that giant void with giant men, as they took Caleb Banks 18th overall and Iowa State's Domonique Orange 82nd overall.
Big Citrus heads to the NFC North and could see the field early.
This is arguably the Vikings' best pick of the 2026 NFL Draft so far. Banks has immense upside, but the foot injuries are a major concern. Orange brings the run-stuffing ability this team was missing, and has plenty of room to grow in terms of rushing the passer.
Orange was "a reach" per the ESPN broadcast, but that's a mistake. The pick of Big Citrus gets an A-, hopefully a sign of a strong second half of the draft. Will the Vikings look to the offense on day three? Stay tuned to find out.
