This year's Coaches vs. Cancer fundraiser was a monumental success, drawing a capacity crowd of nearly 2,000 passionate Illini fans to Gordyville USA. The event raised an incredible $700,000 for the American Cancer Society, solidifying its status as the largest individual fundraiser of its kind in the nation.

While head coach Brad Underwood is typically joined by fellow Big Ten coaches, this year's event took on a special tone, transforming into a celebration of the program's historic Final Four team. The atmosphere was electric as nearly every player from that memorable 28-9 squad returned to be honored by the fans who supported their incredible journey.

The night also provided a glimpse into the program's exciting future, with Tomislav Ivisic, Zvonimir Ivisic, and Jake Davis all announcing their return to Champaign for the 2026-27 season. Even as the team looks ahead, there was room to honor recent contributions; former players Mihailo Petrovic and Toni Bilic made the trip to Gifford, receiving a warm welcome from Coach Underwood, who emphasized the lasting family bond within Illini basketball.

While most of the team was reunited, a few key faces were absent due to their own basketball pursuits. Guard Kylan Boswell was showcasing his skills at the prestigious Portsmouth Invitational Tournament, putting up an impressive 21 points and eight assists, a performance that surely made Illini fans proud. The event once again proved that the Fighting Illini spirit extends far beyond the court, uniting players past and present with fans for a truly impactful cause.
