Glacier’s tennis team served up a mixed bag of results Friday, splitting a pair of duals against Missoula opponents at Flathead Valley Community College. While the Wolfpack showcased standout performances, the day ultimately ended in a draw—a win against Big Sky and a loss to Hellgate.
Autumn Bashara was the star of the show for the Glacier girls, delivering a flawless 6-0, 6-0 victory over Big Sky’s Brynn Windward. That dominant singles win helped propel the Wolfpack to a 5-3 team win over the Eagles. However, the girls couldn’t maintain that momentum against Hellgate, falling 5-3 in a tightly contested matchup. Bashara also picked up a win against Hellgate’s Addie Terwilliger (6-4, 6-1), proving she’s a force to be reckoned with on the court.
On the boys’ side, Cole Pelucca was the anchor for Glacier, securing a 6-2, 6-2 singles win over Big Sky’s Emmitt Griswold. That victory helped the Wolfpack boys claim three singles wins against the Eagles, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Hellgate, which took the boys dual 6-2. Pelucca also battled to a 7-5, 6-3 win over Hellgate’s Maddux Amrine, showing his resilience in a tough match.
The doubles teams also had their moments. For the girls, Miley Fritz and Reid Sanders pulled off a thrilling 7-6 (6), 4-6, 1-0 win against Hellgate, while Avery Bender and Parker Speer edged out a 6-4, 7-6 (4) victory. Against Big Sky, the Wolfpack girls swept three of four doubles matches, with Cadence Daniels and Cassidy Daniels, Quinn Berkram and Amelia Bender, and Bender and Speer all picking up wins.
For the boys, Josh Klippenstein and Axel Rauscher were a dominant duo, winning both their matches against Hellgate (6-1, 6-0) and Big Sky (6-0, 6-1). Isaac Weaks and Conner Salmonsen also chipped in with a 6-3, 5-7, 1-0 win over Big Sky, showing that the Glacier boys have depth in their doubles lineup.
While the results from Flathead’s matches weren’t available at press time, Glacier’s performance Friday highlights the team’s potential as they head deeper into the season. With players like Bashara and Pelucca leading the charge, the Wolfpack are proving they can compete with the best in the state. For fans looking to hit the courts themselves, now’s the perfect time to gear up with the latest tennis apparel—because every match is an opportunity to shine.
