Glacier’s softball team delivered a dominant performance on Saturday, sweeping both Helena schools in a Class AA conference doubleheader. The Wolfpack first overpowered Helena High with a 16-6 victory, then followed up with an 8-3 win over Capital, showcasing their depth and resilience.
In the opening game, Tensley Conner was the star, going 3-for-3 at the plate, including a two-run home run that helped swing momentum. Glacier’s offense exploded for six runs in the sixth inning, finishing with 20 hits against the Bengals. Emma Smith drove in four runs, while Taelor Holt was a perfect 4-for-4, as the Wolfpack scored in five of seven innings.
Helena High’s Charlotte Schulte briefly threatened with a three-run homer in the third, cutting Glacier’s lead to 7-6. But Conner’s two-run shot in the fourth quickly restored control, and the Pack never looked back. Olivia Warriner earned the win on the mound, and Ava Grady provided stellar relief, striking out seven over three scoreless innings. Sophia Frederick, Karley Allen, and Lanee Anderson each added multiple hits to fuel the attack.
Game two was a tighter affair, with Glacier holding a slim 2-1 lead through five innings before pulling away with six runs in the sixth frame. Karley Allen led the way with three hits, including a triple, while Addy Cunningham also collected three hits. Olivia Warriner drove in two runs, and Lanee Anderson chipped in two more hits.
Ava Grady earned the win in relief again, allowing just one run over four innings while striking out four. Warriner started and gave up two runs over three innings. For Capital, Megan Emmert and Avery Williams each had two hits in a losing effort.
With the sweep, Glacier improves to 14-3 on the season, firmly establishing themselves as a force in Class AA. The Wolfpack’s balanced lineup and strong pitching depth will be key as they continue their conference schedule.
