New York Giants backup quarterback Jameis Winston is adding a new title to his resume: FIFA World Cup correspondent.
The former Heisman Trophy winner, known for his charismatic personality and media savvy, will work as FOX Sports' correspondent for the 2026 FIFA World Cup this summer. It's a natural fit for Winston, who has been steadily building a post-playing career in broadcasting.
This isn't Winston's first media gig. He served as a digital correspondent during Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans and even made a guest appearance on Netflix's broadcast of MLB's opening night game this past March. Now, he's taking his talents to the global stage of soccer.
Giants fans can breathe easy—Winston's World Cup duties won't interfere with his NFL commitments. The quarterback is still under contract with Big Blue for the upcoming season. The team's mandatory veteran minicamp wraps up on June 10, and the World Cup kicks off the very next day, running from June 11 to July 19 across various North American cities. The tournament's final game will be held at MetLife Stadium—home of the Giants and Jets—giving Winston a unique connection to the event.
After the World Cup, Winston will rejoin the Giants for training camp in late July at the Greenbrier resort in West Virginia, while renovations continue at the team's New Jersey headquarters.
Whether he's throwing touchdowns or providing sideline analysis, Jameis Winston continues to prove he's a natural in front of the camera—on any field.
