Get ready, Lobo Nation—there's a new Hall coming to town. Dax Hall, a 6-foot-1 point guard from Carlsbad, California, has officially signed with the UNM Lobos for the upcoming season, and he's ready to make his own mark.

You might know him as the younger brother of star freshman shooting guard Jake Hall, but Dax is far from just a sibling. This past season at Santa Fe Christian School, he earned CIF San Diego Section Player of the Year honors by putting up eye-popping numbers: 27.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 7.3 assists, and 3.4 steals per game. While his brother is known for his scoring, Dax brings a different style to the court—and for the first time, the two will be teammates after attending different high schools.

We caught up with Dax to get to know the newest Lobo. Here's what he had to say:

On Coach Eric Olen's system:
"The system is just so free and open. There's gonna be great shooters out there which will keep the spacing great, and I believe will allow me to succeed."

On his playing style—more like Uriah Tenette or Jake Hall?
"I would say Uriah just because of the position and the way he plays on defense, which is something I'll try and replicate when I get on the court. But there are definitely differences between our games."

Describing himself as a player:
"I think of myself as a player who is a facilitator and pesky defender who can score when needed, but will really set up his teammates before anything."

On sibling rivalry with Jake:
"One thing I enjoy really beating him at is golf because he never will beat me. But he most definitely is a better surfer than me."

On his academic plans:
"In high school I did pretty well with numbers, so maybe something in business finance."

On the upcoming In-N-Out near The Pit (opening 2027):
"I would [have still chosen UNM], but Coach Wilder assured me it was on the way, which made it even more of a no-brainer."

With his playmaking skills, defensive tenacity, and a built-in chemistry with his brother, Dax Hall is poised to be a fan favorite from day one. Game 1 in The Pit this season? Don't miss it.
