Georgia Bulldogs safety Ja'Marley Riddle is facing serious legal trouble just months after joining the program, reportedly arrested on drug and speeding charges in early May.

According to police reports obtained by WGIG 98.7 FM, the 22-year-old transfer from East Carolina was pulled over on May 8 after officers observed his vehicle weaving in and out of traffic and reaching speeds up to 95 mph. When approached, Riddle appeared "extremely nervous" and was "shaking" during the conversation. An officer also noted an "overwhelming odor of marijuana" emanating from the car.

After Riddle consented to a vehicle search, police discovered a "large heat-sealed bag" bearing marijuana logos, along with vape cartridges labeled as containing THC. The former Pirate was subsequently arrested and charged with two felonies—both related to possession of a controlled substance, including the purchase, possession, manufacture, distribution, or sale of marijuana, as well as sale of a Schedule I or II controlled substance. He also received a speeding misdemeanor. Despite the serious nature of the charges, officers noted Riddle remained "kind and polite" throughout the investigation.

Riddle was able to post bond on all three charges. The Bulldogs organization has acknowledged the situation, with a team spokesperson stating, "We are aware of the charges and are actively gathering additional information. As this is an ongoing legal matter, we will not be providing further comment at this time."

This development comes as a significant setback for Riddle, who joined the Bulldogs in January after two productive seasons at East Carolina. During his time with the Pirates, he recorded 65 solo tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, and six interceptions—showcasing the kind of playmaking ability that made him an attractive addition to Georgia's defensive backfield. Now, the program and its fans will be watching closely as the legal process unfolds.
