Jones earned the honor after a dominant series against Iowa State, where she exploded at the plate with a .750 batting average and a 1.250 OPS. Her six hits, three RBIs, and three runs were instrumental in securing a series win for the Cowgirls, who are currently ranked 22nd nationally.

This early success is no surprise to those who followed her legendary high school career. Jones was the engine behind Gaylord High School's back-to-back MHSAA Division 2 state championships in 2023 and 2024. Her final season was historic: she led the entire nation in home runs (26) and RBIs (84) while also dominating in the circle, a performance that earned her Gatorade Player of the Year honors.
