Reports in Italy claim that Gian Piero Gasperini will soon meet with Roma owners to discuss the strategy for the summer transfer window and beyond, starting with the appointment of a new sporting director and the extension of Paulo Dybala’s contract.

Roma coach Gasperini will discuss the club’s future strategies with club owners in the coming days.

The Giallorossi coach has taken full control of the club’s operations after Claudio Ranieri’s exit last week, a move that Frederic Massara’s departure will follow in the coming weeks.

Gasperini will have input into many decisions, both on and off the pitch, starting with the appointment of a new sporting director to replace Massara.

Gazzetta and Corriere dello Sport report that Giovanni Manna (Napoli) and Tony D’Amico (Atalanta) are the frontrunners for the job, even if Sean Sogliano is also among the candidates.

Gasperini is expected to have a conference call with Dan Friedkin in the coming days, while Ryan will land in the capital shortly to hold face-to-face talks with the coach.

Gasperini and Roma owners will also discuss Francesco Totti’s potential return to the club, while the coach will receive updates on the new stadium project.

Gasperini and Roma owners will also discuss the club’s strategies for the summer transfer window, including the future of Dybala.

The Argentine’s contract expires at the end of the season, and Gasperini will gladly retain the 2022 Argentina World Cup winner.

According to Gazzetta, Dybala is tempted to return to Argentina to play for Boca Juniors, but believes that it is still too early to return to his native country. Therefore, he is open to considering Roma’s offer, aware that any proposal will involve a pay cut from his current €8m-a-year wages.
