Gian Piero Gasperini’s future at Roma is uncertain.
The Giallorossi coach isn’t sure he’ll stay in the capital, and the possibility of a departure is currently looming in his mind unless the Friedkins accept certain conditions Gasperini will impose for his continued experience.
Gasp has an agreement with Roma until 2028, an important factor to consider.
However, the coach wants to make some changes and would like several things to function differently than they have this season.
Gasperini, who has publicly stated his satisfaction with his choice to coach Roma, has set four conditions to remain in the capital.
As reported by Gazzetta dello Sport, the first concerns the transfer budget: at least confirmation of the amount invested in his first year, given that the club has invested €97 million, plus €25 million from Malen.
To continue his experience in the Eternal City, the Giallorossi coach would like the departure of sporting director Frederic Massara, with whom he hasn’t developed a strong connection.
The third condition concerns Claudio Ranieri: no longer having any working relationship with the Friedkins’ current consultant.
Finally, Gasperini would like full confidence in his program, from managing the team to selecting the staff surrounding it, including the medical staff.
If the owners don’t comply with the Grugliasco-born coach’s requests, the former Atalanta manager is reportedly ready to consider starting over elsewhere, as there is plenty of interest from other clubs, both Italian and foreign.
